Beachcomber

In our search for fulfilment in life, we’re all beachcombers, looking for trinkets of joy and pearls of wisdom along the way.

Beachcomber are a Sheffield-based indie dream pop band emerging from Kelham Island’s vibrant music scene with a reputation for captivating and energetic live performances. Combining wistful vocals with dreamy guitars, driving bass and crashing drums, their washed-out sound contrasts starkly against the post-industrial backdrop of their adopted hometown.

In 2018, old school friends Nick Hibbert and Jim Dyson reunited after university and began swapping music, sharing an affection for dream pop, shoegaze and post-punk from the likes of DIIV, Beach House, Ride and The Night Cafe. Jam sessions and song ideas soon began to flow and after seeking out a permanent rhythm section, they found Liam Sparkes and Ollie Brocklehurst, who brought their own ideas and influences into the fold.

Since forming, the band have found their feet on stage supporting bands such as Toploader, October Drift, China Bears, The Silver Lines and Retro Video Club. They can now boast of their own headline shows, a UK tour, coverage in media publications, podcasts and radio play on stations throughout the UK. With each new song, they continue to craft new melodies and lyrical gems, offering audiences an ever-expanding treasure trove of trinkets of joy and wisdom.
