ID & Age Restrictions

The safety of all Tramlines goers is of highest priority to us, and this means we must have certain rules in place to protect the safety of our younger festival-goers. Please see our age restrictions and ID requirements below.

 

16 & Over

Anyone 16 or over is welcome to attend the festival on their own.

We accept the following forms of ID to enter the festival:

  • Your current passport
  • Your UK Driver’s Licence or Provisional Licence
  • Citizen Card

Please note we cannot accept other forms of ID.  Photocopies will only be accepted to gain entry but the real document will have to be shown to purchase alcohol.

 

Under 15’s

Anyone who is aged 15 or under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

 

Challenge 25

A challenge 25 policy will be in place for all alcohol sales on site. If you look under 25, you will need a valid photo ID to be served alcohol, this can include a Passport, Driver’s Licence or Citizen Card are accepted. Please note: Photocopies will not be accepted as a form of ID to purchase alcohol.

Bag Restrictions

All bags are subject to search on entry. To avoid lengthy queues we strongly advise that you do not bring a bag. Please allow plenty of time for queues, entry procedures, ticket checks and searches.

Bags larger than A4 in size are not permitted.

If in doubt, small bags with the dimensions 210 x 297 x 200mm are permitted, subject to search.

What to Bring

YOUR TRAMLINES ESSENTIALS

TICKETS – Please print your e-tickets (printed or downloaded to your mobile phone) and bring them to the festival each day to be scanned.

CARD – All Bars, Official Merchandise vendors, Traders and Fairground Rides will be completely cashless and will only accept card or contactless payments.

ID – If you are under the age of 16 you will not be allowed entry into the festival without a responsible adult. We operate a strict ‘Challenge 25’ policy at all bars. Passport, Driver’s Licence or Citizen Card are accepted. Please note: Photocopies will not be accepted as a form of ID to purchase alcohol. 

REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE – Remember to keep hydrated. There are plenty of water points inside the festival. You are welcome to bring your own refillable water bottle (500ml max), please make sure it is empty on your arrival to the Festival. Alternatively, you can bring a sealed 500ml water bottle.

SUITABLE CLOTHING – The weather is constantly changing. Please check the forecast and dress suitably for the weather.

PHONE – For finding friends and taking snaps.

SUNCREAM – Keep yourself protected. No bottles over 100ml. No glass.

PORTABLE CHARGER – Keep your phone charged.

What Not to Bring

FULL LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items are not permitted to be taken into Tramlines and will be disposed of at the point of entry:

Controlled substances (including psychoactive substances)

Glass / aerosols / gas canisters / BBQs / weapons / sharp objects

Pyrotechnics / flares / fireworks / lasers / laser pens

Food / alcohol

Golf umbrellas / flags / chairs / camping equipment

Animals (with the exception of assistance dogs)

Large bags (no bags bigger than an A4 piece of paper)

Professional camera or video recording equipment (including SLRs and anything with a detachable lens)

No bikes / skateboards / scooters.

No megaphones / large amplification equipment / klaxons / air horns.

 

Pyrotechnics

As of Monday 3rd of April 2017, changes in legislation under the policing and crime act 2017 mean that anyone found guilty of possessing pyrotechnics (flares, fireworks, smoke bombs etc) at a music festival could face up to 3 months in prison. Please do not bring them to the festival under any circumstances.

Chairs

Seats and chairs of any kind are not permitted into the festival. There will be plenty of seating inside the venue should you wish to sit down during the day.

Food/Drink

No food or drink is permitted (with the exception of a sealed 500ml water bottle, empty refillable bottle and baby food). There are bars and lots of food options including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Visit our Food page for more info.

Valuables

Although these are not prohibited, please don’t bring anything you can’t afford to lose. Tramlines will not take responsibility for any personal possessions.
