She's In Parties

She’s In Parties are a hazy and ethereal quartet whose own idiosyncratic amalgamation of shoegaze and dream-pop belies their relatively young years. The band is led by Irish-born frontperson Katie Dillon (vocals/guitar), alongside her friends Herbie Wiseman (guitar), Matt Carman (drums), and Charlie Johnson (bass).

The band released their sophomore EP Puppet Show on 25th October. Produced by Stephen Street (The Cranberries and Blur) the EP sees the band in their most lyrically mature state yet, as they tackle post coming of age worries and the existential realisation of the world’s issues and personal anxieties of feeling helpless to it all.

Taking their cues from the likes of Slowdive, Cocteau Twins and The Cure, the band harbour a sense of nostalgia certainly, but they avoid feeling derivative. Instead, they succeed in marrying the classic and the contemporary, resulting in an aesthetic that’s both haunting, and effortlessly cool.
