Inspiral Carpets

Inspiral Carpets were a key band of the late-'80s/early-'90s Madchester scene, known for their Farfisa-driven psychedelic garage sound. Formed in Oldham by Graham Lambert and Stephen Holt, their classic lineup included Tom Hingley, Clint Boon, Martyn Walsh, and Craig Gill.

Their debut Life (1990) brought hits like "This Is How It Feels," followed by Revenge of the Goldfish (1992) and Devil Hopping (1994). The band split in 1995, reunited in 2003 and again in 2011 with Holt returning, releasing their self-titled 2014 album. After Gill's death in 2016, they performed again in 2023 alongside the release of The Complete Singles.
