Travelling To and From the Festival

More information

  • On Foot – The best way to get to Tramlines is on foot. We strongly advise against driving as we are expecting traffic congestion around Hillsborough Park.
  • Tram – Supertram will run Trams every 6 minutes from Sheffield City Centre to Hillsborough Park – it is then a 2-minute walk to the festival. Please note, the Hillsborough Park and Hillsborough Corner stops will be closed after the show, you will have access to the Leppings Lane stop from within the main stage arena after the headliners have finished.
The majority of attendees will be leaving on foot and trams are likely to be delayed until the roads are cleared of pedestrians. We appreciate your patience whilst we manage this process. View the network and list of stops or plan your journey.

  • Bus – If you’re travelling by bus, alight at the Hillsborough Park bus stop. Please note, there will be some disruptions due to road closures after the event finishes, please contact the service provider with any questions.

Download the Stagecoach Bus App for full timings and to buy your tickets before you travel! Visit supertram.com for more travel information, and make sure you follow Supertram on Twitter for live service updates throughout the weekend @SCSupertram

  • Cycle –  You can park your bike at our bike park at the Penistone Road entrance, located near the Box Office!

  • Train –  If arriving into Sheffield by train, you can get to the festival by taxi, bus or tram. This will take approximately 15 mins.

  • Taxi – There will be a black cab and friends and family pick-up spot operating from Hillsborough Leisure Centre Car Park. For private hire cars (City Taxis/Uber) please follow the relevant App’s directions. We encourage the use of public transport to reduce the event’s environmental impact, but also to help you get home more quickly as there could be congestion on the surrounding roads.

  • Parking – We strongly recommend travelling to the festival via public transport as there is no on-site parking at the festival and there is strictly no parking on the surrounding residential roads. If you decide to drive, there are two Official Tramlines Car Parks available to book on a first come first served basis here: https://tramlinesparking.co.uk/

Download the Tramlines App

Want to plan your Tramlines weekend before you arrive? Now you can!

The official Tramlines Festival 2024 app is now available for download from the App Store and the Google Play Store – it’s completely free! The app lets you access news and festival information, view the festival map, explore the lineup and most usefully plan your time at the festival.

Safer Spaces at Tramlines

Our aim is to make Tramlines a safe and inclusive space that invites everyone – regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality or ability to join the party at Hillsborough Park. Our fans and the community we have grown make Tramlines the festival it is today and we ask all festival goers to follow our festival ethos at all times.

Alongside the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF), we will be supporting the Safer Spaces campaign and Charter of Best Practice. The campaign encourages festival goers to play an active role in promoting safety by being an Active Bystander.

An Active Bystander is someone who responds effectively to harmful behaviour and provides support.

The 5 Ds of how to be an active bystander:

DIRECT – directly intervene in the situation

DISTRACT – take an indirect approach to deescalate the situation and interrupt what is happening

DELEGATE – get help from someone else to intervene

DOCUMENT – the situation as it is happening

DELAY – after the incident has happened check in with the person who was harmed.

More information on our sexual assault and harrassment policy can be found on our Security and Safeguarding web page here.

We’re also very excited to partner with L’Oreal Paris this year through their Stand Up Against Street Harassment programme. A training, developed in partnership with Right To Be, that helps people safely intervene if they witness or experience harassment in public spaces. You can take the training by clicking the link HERE.

Sensory Area with Sheffield Mind

Festivals are fun. But they can also be overwhelming.

Sheffield Mind will be there for anyone who needs tips, somewhere to chill out for a while, or just a friendly chat. Located near our Welfare tent, the Sensory Area is a calm space to decompress and take some respite from the crowds with an activity corner, comfy bean bags and soothing music.

Sheffield Mind’s qualified and experienced counsellors will be on hand to assist you.

Security and Safety

We work very closely with South Yorkshire Police, members of the security services and Counter Terrorism Policing to encourage live music fans to #BeSafeBeSound whilst ensuring our security procedures are up to date and we are following best practice.

Stay alert and look out for each other. If you spot something that doesn’t feel right, trust your gut and report it to security staff straight away. Don’t leave it to someone else.
