2010

After the success of our first year in 2009 (if we do say so ourselves) 2010 was bigger and better. 250 artists performed, and several venues were added, including Octagon Centre, Tudor Square, The Leadmill, O2 Academy Sheffield, Winter Gardens and our main stage at Devonshire Green increased in capacity from 5,000 to 8,000.

Tramlines remained free, and the wristband system was scrapped. We replaced with a first-come-first-served turnstile system. We attracted almost double the amount of people than in 2009, a massive 65,000 people, hollaaaaa. New events at the 2010 festival included a Youth Music Festival and the Blues trail.

2010 acts included Echo and the Bunnymen, Mystery Jets, a DJ set from Simian Mobile Disco, Professor Green, Tinchy Stryder, Future of the Left, Darwin Deez, Skepta Macka B, The King Blues, The Hoosiers, Craig David, Dum Dum Girls, Annie Mac and Toddla T.

2010 saw our focus turn on reducing its environmental impact. This pledge included a solar powered headphone disco on Devonshire Green, major recycling areas at all of the outdoor stages, and cheap accommodation via Unite.
