Neil McSweeney emerged from the flowering of Sheffield music that also gave the world the likes of Slow Club and Richard Hawley and has since established himself as "one of the UK's most compelling singer songwriters" (fRoots). His fourth long-player, 'A Coat Worth Wearing' was released in March this year prompting Folk Radio UK to observe that "McSweeney’s songs combine the emotional depth of the Romantic poets with the weird and wonderful detail of Dutch genre painting. He is a true one-off."
